A Wild Rhys Appears!

The Long Haul!  Today is the day we 'officially' set off for Park City, fist stop is to try and find the terminal 3 long stay car park. After driving around Heathrow for about 20 mins we finally found it (thanks google maps!) parking the car up and getting the luggage out it all started to kick in. Its holiday time! We got the shuttle to terminal 3, and made our way to the check in desk.  With check in done security checks done i can finally chill out and get some food down me! We went to a little pubby bar thing in the airport and of corse i had to have a full English cause i never eat the airplane food.  Our flight was delayed by about an hour and a half which wasn't too bad, although getting to the gate was a a bit of a trek! Was at least half an hour away!           We were flying on a Boeing 777-300ER which is masssiveee!...

Here we go!  So i started the day off by going to change some money from GBP to USD, thats right I literally left it till the last minute. And when i say started the day off i really mean at about 12 o'clock in the afternoon, and it just so happens there is a McDonalds right next to the place where i got the money from, what a pitty!  After i chowed down on a the greasy goodness of the fast food I played some Minecraft HARDCORE STYLE! And by hardcore I mean for about 5 hour straight, which was awesomeee! the clock came round to about 4pm so i had to start packing up my gear, server was backed up and sent to my mate, chargers all packed and ready to go and hand luggage was weighing a ton cause I crammed it full of tech. So with my bags packed and back already killing me from walking from my bedroom to the car (which is about 5 meters away) Its Holiday Time! Here we go! My first "What's In My Bag" post, where to start... So I'm leaving for a 2 week trip to the US, I tried to cram all this gear into a tiny 11L Dakine Heli backpack last year when I went to Boston and Stowe, after coming back from that trip realising that 11L was not even close to enough room for all my gear I recently bought a new 20L Daking Heli Pro.  This is the Freeride World Tour edition, which in my opinion looks super sexy! After contemplating between this and the mission pack series but I loved the previous Dakine Heli 11L pack series so I decided to keep with this 20L one, more pockets than I can fill, compression straps, hydration system compatible, waist and chest belt, emergency whistle on the chest strap clip blah blah blah. So that time comes around when i'm off travelling again. As many of you guys know i'm slightly snow and ski obsessed! So i thought i would make a post about my upcoming ski trip, this year i'm off to Park City, Utah. The land of sweet pow and sunny degreases and not to mention the home mountain of some of my long time hero's! (Tom Wallisch and Ken Block, that just a few..) Anyway! Its more than just a ski trip, i'm spending a few days in Park City shredding the slopes and then heading though the Monument Valley, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. All that in two weeks (ish), on my lead up to the trip I will be posting a what's in my bag (hand luggage) it will include cameras and tech and all that suff.  So yeah! As well as having this blog updated for every day while i'm away i will be posting photos and some short (very short) videos on my instagram account  but will eventually be making a edit or two from GoPro footage after my trip.
