A Wild Rhys Appears!

Fresh powder!!!!! Aww yeah last day on the slopes and we get 5 inches of fresh snow!! It's a pitty I can't stay longer but then again I'm missing certain people too much and my bed. I just wish we had snow like this in Wales, if we did I would be on those slopes every chance I could get!! Anyway I've handed in my skis, poles and boots. It's always a sad time for me... snow will always be my Valentines. Oh yeah its Valentines day tomorrow, or today in the UK. Single another year running! In other news.... went to a awesome Italian tonight and yet again pizza was the obvious choice! Off to San Francisco tomorrow morning, and maybe a little shopping in between (maybe).

Man I need another hair cut, although it seems like my hair us getting shorter and shorter each time... I'll let that wonder your brain while I bore you with my day. Today I set off for Squaw Valley resort, it just so happens the Winter Olympics was held there a few years back. Conditions arnt much difference from Heavenly, ice and powder patches mixed in the wrong places. Tahoe needs some serious snow fall! There were good runs and some a bit rough, after coming inches away from falling off a 8'000 foot mountain face I though it was time to call it a day in the slopes. (Got to love extreme sports!!) Although that's not the only reason I love skiing, you can't help but fall in love with the mountains around you. Stopped off in Applebies for food tonight, it was the last day with our friends from Orlando as there heading off home tomorrow morning. Woke up today to a seriously in healthy breakfast of left over pizza and mtn dew, so yeah not good ha haa. I'm kind of running out of things to say on this now they days are just pretty repetitive..... although we got some fresh snow today. Skiing wasn't too great today though, weather wasn't too good, slopes have more mougles and ice patches. So yeah... went for food at a Mexican tonight which was pretty good, umm yeah ha haa Sorry the days are pretty repetitive so I don't really want to bore you. Should have more to say tomorrow!!

I just realised that I've put the title of these posts are named with 'San Francisco', even though I'm skiing in Lake Tahoe. Today I went skiing in Heavenly again with our friends from Orlando, the first half was good we stopped for lunch at about 12pm ish. After that the weather changed, the slopes got ice and powder patches and even the wind picked up. The chair lifts were shutting fast! About an hour after lunch my mum took a huge fall on an ice patch and nakered up her left foot. She ended up getting taken down with the ski resort patrol and got checked out at the ski hospital. The damage wasn't bad just a few bruises. We decided to call it a day after that and headed for the nearest pub. Second day of skiing today I can say I woke up with a few aches and pains, as well as some unfortunate panda eyes. No sleep throughout the night once again, its getting annoying now but hey ho. Set off to Sierra resort today, its about half hour from where were staying. The temperature is pretty stupid for the year, I was sat outside the bar in a t shirt and an ice cold mtn dew, I think you get the picture that its pretty hot. This isn't really helping the snow, the ice spots are getting worse and some parts are getting slushie. The ski went pretty good today, I was alot chilled compared to yesterday. Probably knew how I was going wrong yesterday, still not sure which I prefer though between snowboarding and skiing. We net up with our friends from Orlando today I was pretty syked to seem them again, we sat and chilled for a hour or so before we had to shoot off and get changed out of our ski gear. Body clock is so messed up!! I keep waking up every hour or some after 2:00am its really not helping my skiing either. After my early wake up call I polished off an alright breakfast I head out to get my gear on! Anyway enough crap about my body. Today was the first day of skiing, I can say that it wasn't my best day on the slopes. After snowboarding last year in Canada I hadn't really skid for about two years. Although I got into the hang if it after a couple of runs. No fresh powder in a couple of weeks here, there were a couple of ice spots here and there, especially towards the end of the day when the shadows of the trees started to freeze up the snow, it was time to head back down. Feet nakered and feeling gross (won't go into detail) already managed to mess up my foot on the first day, now I'm walking around with a limp like and idiot, but I guess its the sign of a hardcore skier. Woke up this morning in a queen sized bed all to myself (need to get one for my room!) We went our for breakfast and managed get myself a so called 'American Breakfast' basically it was eggs bacon and potatos wich was pretty tasty!! The weather is overcast and rainy in the city, so should be snowing in Lake Tahoe wich is good news! We got some road provisions such as Cheetos and a 2L bottle of Mtn Dewfor the trip in the local Walgreens. On our way up to Heavenly Mountain Resort today in Lake Tahoe its about a 4 hour drive from where we are staying in San Fran city. We cut through Napa Valley which is famous for its wine growing, which is pretty cool if you like wine... we also crossed the world famous Golden Gate Bridge!! It's big, and red. On the way to Lake Tahoe we stopped off at Denny's for some food and a drink it two, I had some classic nachos which were awesome!!! 2 hours left till we see the snow!! Today I leave London Heathrow to San Francisco, apparently its about 13 degrees C over in the city at the moment, not sure on the snow report in heavenly. The flight was delayed for an hour and half to 12.35pm, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem for us. The flight to San Francisco was a long one 11 hours straight, managed to kill a few hours by watching Cowboys and Aliens and Bolt, as well as two books... the food was pretty crap too so I was starving when I got off the plane! Baggage collected then it was off to get the rental car, we got Chevrolet 4x4 red thing, its pretty darn cool to be fair. Since the first night were spending in the city of San Fran, well its pretty manic here but I suppose thats what US cities are like! After finding some food to chow down its finally off to bed, completely drained of energy. California is about 8 hours behind the UK so these posts will be at odd times of the day even now back at home it would be about 3:35am and I haven't ha...

Today I leave for a ski/snowboarding trip to San Francisco, so syked. All the gear is packed and camera is charged this year I have a new pair Oneal of salopets, there bright blue and awesome! They go pretty good with my super baggy Burton snow jacket. Although there is snow around London the roads were all flowing fine and most of the flights were running as usual. Hopeful this year ill have internet connection in the ho,tel, so I can keep you guys updated daily! So fingers crossed!!!
