Boston/Stowe (14th February 2015) - Day 3

Today we set off for Stowe!

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Weather: Sunny/Cloudy
Temp: -12°

We had the afternoon left in Boston yesterday which we spent most of it in bars (I'm not complaining). Since there is a 5 hour time difference sleeping was a little odd, managed to wake up at 3am and then managed to get up at 6:30am which is around 11:30am in the UK. So kind of fits my sleeping pattern right down to a tee!

I managed to get up just as the sun was rising! Being me i managed to take a few snaps (few being lots)

After I finished taking loads of photos we went down for a coffee (after a shower of course) thats where i managed to finish off the blog post that i was suppose to send out last night. We didn't hang around in the hotel for long, before I knew it we were out the door and back to the airport to get the rental car. We managed to get a Ford Edge which is a big SUV thing its silver and pretty cool looking.

Before heading to the mountains we stopped off in an outlet near Boston to pick up some on sale clothing. Managed to get myself two pairs of Levi's since i pretty much live in them all day every day! Not much to say about the outlets there was a lot of looking around at clothes that i didn't want or couldn't afford.

After the outlet and freezing my butt off it was off to Stowe! It's about a 4 hour dive to the mountains and there was a blizzard coming in, the drive was pretty good. The roads were clear with a little fog. The higher up we got the more fog started to build up and the heavier the snow got.

Location: Stowe, Vermont
Weather: Overcast/Snowing
Temp: -12°

We got to the hotel in Stowe at around 4:30pm so we made good time getting here despite the snow getting heavier and a slight bit of traffic closer to the town. The snow was high which is a good sign for the mountains. The hotel is pretty cosy and free wifi (priorities people!) personal fire in the room and nice bed which is good, haven't had much luck with the last two hotels with my sleeping, plus i love my bed more than anything (but hey you all knew that!)

We went out to get the rental skis which is always a funny experience trying on boots. Although this time not so much, before we had even stepped foot in the door all out gear was sorted out for us! (now thats what i call service!) I tried on the boots just to be safe, all fitted well and comfy! (Saying that I've never really had a problem with ski boots). After getting the ski gear we headed into town for some food, we stopped in the a little place called 'The Malt Shop'. We went here about 2 years ago when we were last in Stowe, a small place with a 50s theme, Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and fries for me!

After food it was back to the hotel, to the place where I'm typing this blog out. Currently in a bar attached to the hotel called 'Charlie B's'. Not that bad of a place to write a full blog, (let me set the scene.)

Its 7pm and you're pretty full after stuffing your face with loads of awesome food, you panic cause once again you're enjoying the holiday too much and not writing the blog. The bar is open, you take the old lappy top with you to panic write it. (This is where it gets good.)
The bar is a little crowded but there is a small area int he corner where you can peacefully write the blog, the live music sets up behind you and you think that you're getting a speaker right in your ear. (wrong)
Live acoustic music, a cold beer on the table with your name on it, and a fire pit. Yep, life is good.

First ski day tomorrow so up early, not to many beers and and early (ish) night for me!

And so i leave you until tomorrow. Goodnight/Good Morning!
Until tomorrow!
