Boston/Stowe (15-16th February 2015) - Day 4+5
Day 4
Location: Stowe, Vermont
Weather: Overcast/Snowing
Temp: -16°C
The morning of the 15th didn't start off to well for me, weather it was something i ate or there was a bug going around but all i know is that i was ill from something.
So there isn't really much to say for that 4 day in Stowe, unless you want me to go into detail about how much sleep i had and how sick i was throughout the day? (But i doubt you want to read about that.)
I spent the entire day in bed in my PJs my parents went off skiing and went about their normal holiday business, again not much to write about when your lying in bed all day. My diet consisted of tablets and water. American TV sucks. Thats about it.
Day 5
Location: Stowe, Vermont
Weather: Sunny/Windy
Temp: -23°C
So day 5 was a better start, feeling a lot better and was ready to hit the slopes (or so i had thought.) Raring to go we decided not to bother as it was ridiculously cold out -23° with a wind chill of what felt like -35°. Although i was a little annoyed about skipping another day it was probably for the best, as soon as i stepped into the cold weather my breath was instantly taken away. The wind cut straight through my clothing and it was heard to breath in, and this was in the town of Stowe let alone the top of the mountain.
We went for breakfast in a place called Macarthy's, its a little diner that we went to before when we were last in Stowe with some friends they do pretty awesome breakfasts! Although yet again i wasn't feeling like eating today, i was determined to eat something as i hadn't in around 30 hours. I got though half an sandwich and gave up, it was nice just i couldn't get it down me.
After breakfast we went to check out another ski resort that was near by called Jay Peek. Small place with not a lot going on, but again the weather was so bad that there was no on on the slopes. Again it was too cold to stay out so we walked around the shops for a little while and headed back to the hotel.
Now that i had nearly gotten over my illness, i must have passed it onto my mum as she is having the same symptoms as i was the night before. She didn't want to eat, was too cold to move and genuinely felt like crap (Sorry mum!). My Dad and I went out for some food, by this time i thought i could get some food in me, we went to an Italian near by, again we had been there before (Stowe isn't a big town.) I managed to get though about 2 slices before i was done with it, little bit at a time i think!
But now for an early night, i've tried to stretch this out as much as i could as someone has already complained that i missed a day (you know who you are), hopefully to be on the slopes tomorrow!
